The College of Arts, Sciences and Education requires separate admission for all undergraduate teacher certification programs.
Students apply to the program after completing a majority of their core/general education coursework, have taken the needed pre-requisites, and have the minimum GPA requirements. Students on a four-year timeline apply to program the second semester of their second year.
The Undergraduate Teacher Certification Program is a cohort model beginning every fall semester. Applications are not reviewed for summer or spring start. Applicants must have all items in by April 1st for admissions consideration.
Application process
The application below is for students pursuing certification at the undergraduate level. If you are interested in applying to the Master's in Teaching or Grow-Your-Own (GYO) program you will need to apply through the Office of Graduate Studies & Admissions.
The application deadline for the fall 2026 semester is Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
